A look through the years

1980 —
Founded

The origins of our company echo the inspiring stories of countless immigrants who journeyed to the United States in pursuit of the American Dream. Joaquin Vasques, founder, owner, and Director Emeritus, begins this journey with a small kitchen and big dreams. Under his leadership, MBJ Food Services secures its first collegiate dining contract, paving the way for an expansion into catering and the establishment of a thriving, full-service food operation. 

2000 —
Thriving

From humble beginnings, we have grown into a symbol of excellence, diversity, and innovation, earning our place as a trusted name in New York City's food service landscape. Our success is driven by a passion for food, a commitment to teamwork, and an unwavering dedication to supporting the communities we proudly serve.
